Fakra Code C Double Male Right Angle For PCB

Fakra (short for "FAKRA Automotive Connectors") is a type of standardized coaxial connector used in the automotive industry for high-frequency applications such as GPS, cellular, and satellite radio. It was developed by the FAKRA (Fachkreis Automobil-Radiozubehör) organization, a consortium of several major car manufacturers, to ensure compatibility and ease of use across different brands and models.

Overview

The FAKRA (Fachkreis Automobil, "specialist group automobile") connector is a specialized RF connector designed primarily for automotive applications. It standardizes RF connections for telematics, infotainment, safety, and communication systems within vehicles. Developed in compliance with the ISO 20860-1 and 20860-2 standards, FAKRA connectors ensure reliable high-frequency signal transmission in environments subject to vibration, temperature variations, and mechanical stress.

Features

  • Frequency Range: Typically up to 6 GHz, supporting high-data-rate applications such as GPS, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and SDARS.

  • Design: Uses a SMB-style coaxial interface housed in a plastic shell with color coding and mechanical keying to prevent mismating.

  • Color & Coding: Over a dozen mechanical codes and color options allow clear identification for specific functions (e.g., GPS, AM/FM, cellular, camera systems).

  • Durability: Engineered to withstand harsh automotive environments, with secure locking mechanisms and vibration resistance.

FAQ

Sample Delivery Time

Regular models require 15 days, while some complex connectors require 25 days.

Sample Fee

Most RF connectors are CNC-machined parts and do not require mold-making.

However, each part needs to be fine-tuned on the CNC machine. Typically, a single sample costs $200.

This fee will be refunded after a 5K bulk order.

Guarantee

Brass RF connectors come with a one-year warranty.

Stainless steel connectors come with a three-year warranty.

The lifespan also depends on the contact material  beryllium contacts offer better durability.

ROHS & REACH Compliance

Our products fully comply with ROHS & REACH regulations.

Does LENORF Offer Military-Grade Products?

Yes. We are honored to provide military-grade products with exceptionally stable quality.

MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)

Regular connectors: 500 PCS

Adapters: 100 PCS

Military connectors: 100 PCS

Materials

Common materials include:

Body: Brass, stainless steel

Insulator: PTFE, PEEK

Contacts: Brass, phosphor bronze, beryllium copper

Other: Aluminum, titanium alloy

What is impedance, and why is 50 Ω or 75 Ω important?

Impedance matching prevents signal reflection and power loss. 50 Ω: Standard for RF communication, test equipment, aerospace, defense. 75 Ω: Standard for broadcast, video, and cable TV applications.

What materials are RF connectors made of?

Body: Brass, stainless steel, or beryllium copper (with nickel, gold, or silver plating). Insulator: PTFE, PE, or advanced low-loss dielectrics. Contacts: Gold-plated brass or beryllium copper for low resistance and durability.

Are RF connectors weatherproof?

Some RF connectors are designed with gaskets and sealing (e.g., N-type, 4.3-10) for outdoor telecom, antennas, and harsh environments. Indoor lab connectors (e.g., SMA, BNC) are usually not weatherproof unless specified.

What’s the difference between male and female RF connectors?

Male: Has a center pin and usually an outer thread or bayonet. Female: Has a receptacle (socket) for the center pin and matching thread. Some connectors (like SMA) can be confusing because “reverse polarity” (RP-SMA) swaps pin/socket configuration.
