The SMB connector (SubMiniature version B) is a type of coaxial RF connector used to connect radio frequency signals in telecommunications and other high-frequency applications. The SMB connector provides a snap-on interface that makes installation and removal simple. It also features a 50 impedance, making it suited for a variety of RF applications, the frequency up to 4GHz, Extended performance up to 10 GHz.
Base stations, antennas, radio board, GPS systems, as well as telecommunications and measurement equipment, frequently use SMB connectors. They come in both male and female variants and work with a variety of coaxial cables, including RG58 and RG174. SMB female connectors have male pins, while SMB male connectors have female contacts. SMB coax connectors are snap-on versions of SMA connectors. SMA male connectors have male pins, whereas SMA female connectors have female contacts. Mini-SMB is a 75 ohm version SMB, the size is same as standard SMB. The FAKRA connector use SMB as a inner connector with plastic housing.
