Featuring broadband performance from DC to 18 GHz (model dependent), this surge arrestor ensures low VSWR (<1.2) and minimal insertion loss, preserving signal quality across various frequencies. The internal surge protection element -typically a gas discharge tube (GDT) - rapidly conducts transient surges to ground, preventing equipment damage without disrupting normal signal flow. Some models feature replaceable GDT cartridges for easy field maintenance.

The body is constructed from high-grade brass or stainless steel with a nickel or silver-plated finish to ensure corrosion resistance and excellent RF shielding. Options for 50 ohm and 75 ohm impedance, DC pass or block, and connector types such as N, SMA, BNC, TNC, and 7/16 DIN make it adaptable to most RF systems.
