SMC Connectors Female Straight Solder For PCB

SMC (SubMiniature version C) coaxial RF connectors were invented in the 1960s. MIL-STD-348 contains interface standards for the SMC and several additional connectors. They employ a threaded interface that is #10-32 UNF (screw type). Electrical performance ranges from DC to 10 GHz using SMC connectors. The center contact on Male (Plug) SMC connectors is a socket, whereas the center contact on Female (Jack) SMC connectors is a pin. External threads are used on SMC jack connectors, whereas matching hex nuts are used on SMC plug connectors. They offer an interface for tiny form factor coaxial cables (e.g. 50-Ohm RG-174, 75-Ohm RG-179) and printed circuit boards when a compact footprint is necessary.

FAQ

Sample Delivery Time

Regular models require 15 days, while some complex connectors require 25 days.

Sample Fee

Most RF connectors are CNC-machined parts and do not require mold-making.

However, each part needs to be fine-tuned on the CNC machine. Typically, a single sample costs $200.

This fee will be refunded after a 5K bulk order.

Guarantee

Brass RF connectors come with a one-year warranty.

Stainless steel connectors come with a three-year warranty.

The lifespan also depends on the contact material  beryllium contacts offer better durability.

ROHS & REACH Compliance

Our products fully comply with ROHS & REACH regulations.

Does LENORF Offer Military-Grade Products?

Yes. We are honored to provide military-grade products with exceptionally stable quality.

MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)

Regular connectors: 500 PCS

Adapters: 100 PCS

Military connectors: 100 PCS

Materials

Common materials include:

Body: Brass, stainless steel

Insulator: PTFE, PEEK

Contacts: Brass, phosphor bronze, beryllium copper

Other: Aluminum, titanium alloy

What is impedance, and why is 50 Ω or 75 Ω important?

Impedance matching prevents signal reflection and power loss. 50 Ω: Standard for RF communication, test equipment, aerospace, defense. 75 Ω: Standard for broadcast, video, and cable TV applications.

What materials are RF connectors made of?

Body: Brass, stainless steel, or beryllium copper (with nickel, gold, or silver plating). Insulator: PTFE, PE, or advanced low-loss dielectrics. Contacts: Gold-plated brass or beryllium copper for low resistance and durability.

Are RF connectors weatherproof?

Some RF connectors are designed with gaskets and sealing (e.g., N-type, 4.3-10) for outdoor telecom, antennas, and harsh environments. Indoor lab connectors (e.g., SMA, BNC) are usually not weatherproof unless specified.

What’s the difference between male and female RF connectors?

Male: Has a center pin and usually an outer thread or bayonet. Female: Has a receptacle (socket) for the center pin and matching thread. Some connectors (like SMA) can be confusing because “reverse polarity” (RP-SMA) swaps pin/socket configuration.
