7/16 Connector Plug Clamp Straight For LMR400 Cable

7/16 connectors are mechanically very strong screw-lock coaxial connections. They feature a 50 ohm characteristic impedance and excellent electrical properties, making them ideal for applications up to 7.5 GHz. Common usage include radio transmitters with medium to high power and low PIM transmission of received signals, such as those used in mobile phone base stations.Male and female 7-16 DIN connectors with a 50 Ohm impedance are available. Straight and right angle 7-16 DIN connectors are offered, as well as 4 hole flange, bulkhead, 4 hole panel, and mountless types. Clamp/solder, crimp/solder, field replaceable, and solder connection techniques are available for these 7-16 DIN connectors.

Overview

The 7/16 DIN connector is a threaded RF connector widely used in high-power,Low insertion loss design and low-PIM (Passive Intermodulation) applications. Its name comes from the dimensions of the inner and outer contacts: 7 mm (outer conductor) and 16 mm (inner conductor). Designed originally in Europe, it has become an industry standard for RF/microwave test benches and calibration equipment,TV and radio transmission systems,Network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes and other demanding RF installations.

Features

High Power HandlingSupports up to several kilowatts of power, thanks to its robust design and low contact resistance.
Low PIM Performance

Typically -150 dBc or better, making it ideal for cellular base stations and DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems).

Rugged Mechanical DesignLarge, threaded coupling ensures secure, vibration-resistant connections.
Weatherproof OptionsOften available with gaskets or weather seals for outdoor use.
DurabilityCan withstand repeated mating cycles (>500)

Applications

  • Cellular base stations (4G, 5G)

  • Broadcasting transmitters (FM, TV, satellite uplink)

  • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)

  • Military and aerospace RF systems

  • High-power RF test setups

  • RF/microwave test benches and calibration equipment

  • TV and radio transmission systems

  • Network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes

FAQ

Sample Delivery Time

Regular models require 15 days, while some complex connectors require 25 days.

Sample Fee

Most RF connectors are CNC-machined parts and do not require mold-making.

However, each part needs to be fine-tuned on the CNC machine. Typically, a single sample costs $200.

This fee will be refunded after a 5K bulk order.

Guarantee

Brass RF connectors come with a one-year warranty.

Stainless steel connectors come with a three-year warranty.

The lifespan also depends on the contact material  beryllium contacts offer better durability.

ROHS & REACH Compliance

Our products fully comply with ROHS & REACH regulations.

Does LENORF Offer Military-Grade Products?

Yes. We are honored to provide military-grade products with exceptionally stable quality.

MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)

Regular connectors: 500 PCS

Adapters: 100 PCS

Military connectors: 100 PCS

What’s the lifespan of an RF connector?

Connector durability is rated in mating cycles: General-purpose connectors (BNC, SMA): 500 cycles. Precision connectors (2.92 mm, 2.4 mm): 500 cycles or less. Rugged telecom connectors (N, 7/16 DIN): 500 cycles.

Can RF connectors be reused?

Yes, but performance degrades with wear. Precision connectors (used in test equipment) should be handled carefully—damage to threads or pins increases VSWR and insertion loss.

What’s the difference between threaded, bayonet, and push-on RF connectors?

Threaded (SMA, N, TNC): Secure, vibration-resistant. Bayonet (BNC): Quick connect/disconnect. Push-on (MCX, SMP): Ultra-fast, compact, used in high-density modules.

Are RF connectors interchangeable between brands?

Yes, if they follow the same standard (e.g., SMA-to-SMA). However, tolerances, plating, and dielectric quality vary — mixing low-quality and precision connectors can damage equipment.

Materials
