7/16 Connector Jack Straight Clamp For 7/8" Flexible Cable

7/16 connectors are mechanically extremely strong screw-lock coaxial connectors. They feature a 50 ohm characteristic impedance and excellent electrical properties, making them ideal for applications up to 7.5 GHz. Common usage include radio transmitters with medium to high power and low PIM transmission of received signals, such as those used in mobile phone base stations.

Overview

The 7/16 DIN connector is a threaded RF connector widely used in high-power,Low insertion loss design and low-PIM (Passive Intermodulation) applications. Its name comes from the dimensions of the inner and outer contacts: 7 mm (outer conductor) and 16 mm (inner conductor). Designed originally in Europe, it has become an industry standard for Patient monitoring systems with wireless connectivity,RF ablation, telemetry, and diagnostic tools,MRI, CT, and ultrasound imaging devices and other demanding RF installations.

Features

High Power HandlingSupports up to several kilowatts of power, thanks to its robust design and low contact resistance.
Low PIM Performance

Typically -150 dBc or better, making it ideal for cellular base stations and DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems).

Rugged Mechanical DesignLarge, threaded coupling ensures secure, vibration-resistant connections.
Weatherproof OptionsOften available with gaskets or weather seals for outdoor use.
DurabilityCan withstand repeated mating cycles (>500)

Applications

  • Cellular base stations (4G, 5G)

  • Broadcasting transmitters (FM, TV, satellite uplink)

  • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)

  • Military and aerospace RF systems

  • High-power RF test setups

  • Patient monitoring systems with wireless connectivity

  • RF ablation, telemetry, and diagnostic tools

  • MRI, CT, and ultrasound imaging devices

FAQ

Sample Delivery Time

Regular models require 15 days, while some complex connectors require 25 days.

Sample Fee

Most RF connectors are CNC-machined parts and do not require mold-making.

However, each part needs to be fine-tuned on the CNC machine. Typically, a single sample costs $200.

This fee will be refunded after a 5K bulk order.

Guarantee

Brass RF connectors come with a one-year warranty.

Stainless steel connectors come with a three-year warranty.

The lifespan also depends on the contact material  beryllium contacts offer better durability.

ROHS & REACH Compliance

Our products fully comply with ROHS & REACH regulations.

Does LENORF Offer Military-Grade Products?

Yes. We are honored to provide military-grade products with exceptionally stable quality.

MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)

Regular connectors: 500 PCS

Adapters: 100 PCS

Military connectors: 100 PCS

Are RF connectors weatherproof?

Some RF connectors are designed with gaskets and sealing (e.g., N-type, 4.3-10) for outdoor telecom, antennas, and harsh environments. Indoor lab connectors (e.g., SMA, BNC) are usually not weatherproof unless specified.

What’s the difference between male and female RF connectors?

Male: Has a center pin and usually an outer thread or bayonet. Female: Has a receptacle (socket) for the center pin and matching thread. Some connectors (like SMA) can be confusing because “reverse polarity” (RP-SMA) swaps pin/socket configuration.

What is VSWR, and why does it matter?

VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) indicates signal reflection. Ideal: 1.0 (perfect match). Lower VSWR means less signal loss and distortion.

What are typical applications of RF connectors?

Telecom (5G, LTE, satellite) Aerospace & defense (radar, avionics, secure comms) Test & measurement (network/spectrum analyzers) Broadcast & video distribution Automotive radar and IoT devices Medical imaging & equipment

Materials
