The 7/16 DIN connector is a threaded RF connector widely used in high-power,silver plated contacts for low resistance and low-PIM (Passive Intermodulation) applications. Its name comes from the dimensions of the inner and outer contacts: 7 mm (outer conductor) and 16 mm (inner conductor). Designed originally in Europe, it has become an industry standard for RF ablation, telemetry, and diagnostic tools,Wireless sensor networks and IoT gateways,Patient monitoring systems with wireless connectivity and other demanding RF installations.
High Power Handling | Supports up to several kilowatts of power, thanks to its robust design and low contact resistance. |
Low PIM Performance | Typically -150 dBc or better, making it ideal for cellular base stations and DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems). |
Rugged Mechanical Design | Large, threaded coupling ensures secure, vibration-resistant connections. |
Weatherproof Options | Often available with gaskets or weather seals for outdoor use. |
Durability | Can withstand repeated mating cycles (>500) |
Cellular base stations (4G, 5G)
Broadcasting transmitters (FM, TV, satellite uplink)
Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
Military and aerospace RF systems
High-power RF test setups
RF ablation, telemetry, and diagnostic tools
Wireless sensor networks and IoT gateways
Patient monitoring systems with wireless connectivity

Regular models require 15 days, while some complex connectors require 25 days.
Most RF connectors are CNC-machined parts and do not require mold-making.
However, each part needs to be fine-tuned on the CNC machine. Typically, a single sample costs $200.
This fee will be refunded after a 5K bulk order.
Brass RF connectors come with a one-year warranty.
Stainless steel connectors come with a three-year warranty.
The lifespan also depends on the contact material beryllium contacts offer better durability.
Our products fully comply with ROHS & REACH regulations.
Yes. We are honored to provide military-grade products with exceptionally stable quality.
Regular connectors: 500 PCS
Adapters: 100 PCS
Military connectors: 100 PCS
Some RF connectors are designed with gaskets and sealing (e.g., N-type, 4.3-10) for outdoor telecom, antennas, and harsh environments. Indoor lab connectors (e.g., SMA, BNC) are usually not weatherproof unless specified.
Male: Has a center pin and usually an outer thread or bayonet. Female: Has a receptacle (socket) for the center pin and matching thread. Some connectors (like SMA) can be confusing because “reverse polarity” (RP-SMA) swaps pin/socket configuration.
VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) indicates signal reflection. Ideal: 1.0 (perfect match). Lower VSWR means less signal loss and distortion.
Telecom (5G, LTE, satellite) Aerospace & defense (radar, avionics, secure comms) Test & measurement (network/spectrum analyzers) Broadcast & video distribution Automotive radar and IoT devices Medical imaging & equipment
Common materials include:
Body: Brass, stainless steel
Insulator: PTFE, PEEK
Contacts: Brass, phosphor bronze, beryllium copper
Other: Aluminum, titanium alloy
